Thomas Alan Dancey October 18, 1955 - April 30, 2016 VISALIA It is with extremely heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend - Thomas A. Dancey. But we rejoice in the knowledge that he is standing in the presence of our Lord and is once again reunited with his parents, Roger and Trudy. Tom was born on October 18, 1955 in Fontana, California. He was the youngest of three children and the only son of his proud parents. He completed his journey on earth April 30, 2016 in Visalia, California He spent his early childhood in Ontario, California and moved with his family to Visalia in 1961. Here he attended local schools and graduated from Mt. Whitney in 1973. His time at Mt. Whitney was spent playing football and baseball for the Pioneers with a group of close friends - that to this day- still get together on a regular basis to catch up, golf and tell stories. Tom went on to college first at COS playing football and baseball for the Giants and then transferring to San Diego State. He lived in San Diego for a few years and met and married Kristy Sturz. From that marriage he was blessed with his greatest treasures, Dana Lynn and Alison Ann. After moving back to Visalia, he began a very long career in Ag Chemical Sales. First with Unocal, then Calarco and retiring in 2014 from Helena Chemical. It was during his early years at Unocal that he was introduced to the love of his life, Mary Rose, about whom he said, “made all of his dreams come true”. In October 2016 they would be celebrating 20 years of love. As a bonus of this marriage, he was loved by daughter Michele and son Jason. Tom was his happiest being with his family, watching or talking sports, barbequing and attending his children’s activities. Left to cherish his memories are his devoted wife, Mary Rose, his loving children, Dana Dancey (Seamus), Alison Dancey (Kris), Michele Hyman and Jason Vieira. His two precious granddaughters, Madison Hyman and Haylee Hyman. He also leaves, to treasure great memories, his sister Gina Griffiths and her sons Matthew Griffiths and Marc Griffiths and their families. His sister Cathy Harris and her children, Lisa Serpa and Bob Sharley and their families. His “brothers” Marcel Soares and Lucio Soares and “sisters” Janet Silva, Evelyn Soares and Jessie Bettencourt and their families. Time will heal, but we will never forget. “When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move. When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk thru. When You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You. I will trust, I WILL TRUST IN YOU“. Please join us in celebrating Tom’s life. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2016 from 4pm-7pm and service to be on Friday, May 6, 2016 beginning 11:00am at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel -127 E Caldwell Ave, Visalia.
