Sheila Ann Hefner

Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend Rev. 14:13 "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord...they will rest from their labor for their deeds will follow them." Sheila Hefner was born in Palo Alto, CA on August 26, 1933. God extended his hand and invited Sheila into his Kingdom on April 2, 2024. She was surrounded by her husband, family and friends as she went to her forever home. Sheila married the love of her life, Bob Hefner. They were married 72 years. They left a christian legacy together. Sheila was preceded in death by her daughter Dana Coughlin and her brother Glenn Feusier. She is survived by her husband Bob Hefner, daughters Leslie Hutchings and Penney Morrelli, brothers Paul Feusier and Robert Feusier, son-in-laws Dannye Hutchings, Robert Morrelli and Jim Coughlin, daughter-in-law Kelley Coughlin, 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Sheila became a christian at a Billy Graham Crusade. From that day on she served the Lord with her heart, soul and body. She encouraged everyone with sending out lots of encouraging cards weekly, sending letters to college students, baking treats for neighbors and friends, she gave the best hugs and always took the time to listen to everyone. Sheila was an active member of Gateway church and a faithful servant of the Lord. Many children at church called her Grandma Sheila. For several years she could be found in the nursery playing with the children and rocking babies to sleep. She was also a greeter at the information booth and blessed many hearts with her warm smile. Sheila and her husband enjoyed several trips together. Their favorite place's to go was the Apple Farm in Pismo and Hume Lake. Their anniversary gifts to their children was a weekend trip to Hume Lake for a couples retreat. Sheila and Bob would also take care of the grandchildren this weekend which usually included one or more soccer games and taking them to church. Often you could find Sheila on her sewing machine. She helped family and friends on a variety of projects: baby blankets, Halloween/show/rodeo costumes, stuffed animals, bridesmaids dresses for all her daughters and so much more. When her three girls were growing up she would sew all their dresses and make clothes for their barbie dolls. Sheila's love for her family was limitless. She was their anytime anyone needed her. She loved and watched her grandchildren and great grandchildren all the time. You would find Sheila at the children's sporting events, school activities, horse riding events, and so many other activities. During the holiday's, birthday's and other family activities you would always go to Bob and Sheila's house for a great home cooked meal and lots of love. She was proud of her family and we can never thank her enough for all her support and prayers. Philippians 4:6-7 Don't worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have. And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God's peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds.
