Ruben Rivera Galindo

Ruben Rivera Galindo passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025 at 9:30am, surrounded by his loving wife and family at age 72. Ruben was affectionately known as "The Preacher Man" due to his unwavering faith in God and his willingness to pray and share the love of God with those whom he met. Born in Mexico on October 25, 1952, to Jose and Juana Galindo, Ruben was the oldest of 8 siblings. His father and mother preceded him in death as well as three brothers Gerardo, Jose Jr., and Edwardo Galindo; three sisters Fermina Berg, Aurora Rudometkin, and Francisca Galnido; two sisters-in-law Juanita Lee and Barbara Mathews; and his mother-in-law Mary Davenport. Ruben received his early education at Stone Corral Elementary in Seville, CA, attended Jr High School at Woodlake Valley Middle School in Woodlake, CA and later graduated from Exeter High School in 1971. Right after he graduated at the age of 17 Ruben became a volunteer fireman with the Woodlake Fire Department. He then went on to become a truck driver for about six years, after truck driving he managed two construction companies. Ruben later became a financial accountant for over 20 years. Ruben met the love of his life, Ruby Galindo, in 2018 and they married on August 15, 2020; he was a devoted husband to his loving wife who he affectionately called "Queen" or his "Beloved". Ruben and Ruby built a beautiful home together and loved spending time with their fur babies (puppies); Codi, Chloe, and most recently Grace, whom he brought home June 2025 at only 8 weeks old, and NiqNiq who passed away. Ruben loved God. He was a devoted follower of Christ and faithful servant of the Lord. In 2018 he joined Second Baptist Church in Visalia, CA under the leadership of Pastor Frank A. Wilson. From 2020-2023 during covid season, he and is wife became members of Restoration Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Robert E. Hooks. In 2024 they returned to Second Baptist Church under the new leadership of Pastor Jamel Nicholas. Ruben believed Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatever your hands finds to do, do it with all your might...." therefore he helped and worked wherever needed. He was a Sunday School teacher, played his guitar, and was a member of the men's ministry Brotherhood Department. Ruben was known for his deep love of guitars and for his talent in both collecting them and playing them with passion and skill. He played for the church and recreationally. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, and a guitar collection that was a testament to his passion. Beyond his passion for guitars, Ruban and Ruby were California Mentors for two young ladies, Reina Esqueda and Trinity Frautten. He was a constant source of quiet strength and gentle guidance. His vibrant sense of humor and kind heart brightened the lives of all who knew him. Ruben is survived by his "Queen", wife Ruby Jewel Galindo of Visalia, CA whom he loved with all his heart; three brothers Joe and Fernando Galindo both of Woodlake, CA, and Jesse and wife Rose Galindo of Spring, TX; three sisters Josie and husband Vincente Nieto, Elvira and Husband Ernesto Garcia both of Woodlake, CA, and Yolanda Galindo of Visalia, CA; son Ruben Galindo Jr. of San Pedro, CA; daughter Olivia Guerrero of San Fernando Valley; stepchildren Tremel Lee of Visalia, CA and Jonathan and wife Christina Maxwell of Fort Worth, TX; brothers and sisters in law Jimmy Williams Jr (June), Glenda and husband Anthony Tibbs all of Visalia, CA, Edward and wife Yvette Williams of Fort Worth, TX, Marvin Williams of Corcoran, CA, Troy Ficklin of Los Angeles, CA, Derrick Williams of Ontario, CA, Valisha Brown and Veronica Williams both of Arizona, and Liz Piles of Lancaster, CA; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 17 nieces and nephews, 31 great nieces and nephews, a host of extended family and longtime friends. Ruben will be remembered for his generosity, kind heart, and his love for God. His life was filled with purpose, humor, and love for the people who shared it. He will be deeply missed. Although he is gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Visitation will be held 4-7PM Friday, October 24th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Service Of Remembrance services will be held 11AM Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
