Ronni Allen Hunnicutt

Ron Allen Hunnicutt was born July 13th 1958 in Bakersfield, CA, and passed away May 11th 2023 in Visalia, CA. He was raised in Bakersfield, CA by his parents Shirley Ann and Gordon Roy Hunnicutt, and was the eldest brother to Julie Franey and Jody Kinkade. In his younger years, Ron loved ridin' dune buggies, playing tennis, walks on the beach, rockin' out to his favorite music, challenging his friends to ping pong, giving his sisters a hard time, and vanilla Twinkies. Ron graduated South High in 1976, and after working in construction for a few years, went back to school and graduated both Bakersfield College in 1991, and Fresno Pacific University in 1996 with a Bachelors in Psychology. In 1995, a year before he graduated, he married the love of his life, Lisha Jean Hunnicutt. Ron and Lisha met at Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene in Bakersfield, CA and connected over their love for the Lord, and they eventually fell in love. Their vows, "Through sickness and in health," were quickly put to the test a few months after their wedding when Ron was diagnosed with kidney failure. Doctors said they wouldn't be able to have kids because of his illness, but God thought otherwise and blessed them with two - Jessica Annalise and Kendall Jean. Ron battled his health till his last days, but that didn't stop him from celebrating their girls' high school graduation, walking Kendall down the aisle when she married Colston Reese, celebrating 27 years of marriage with Lisha, seeing Annalise graduate from Biola University, and meeting his very own grandson, Wayland Allen Reese. More than his family, and yes, even more than the San Francisco Giants, Ron's heart was after the Lord. In all his trials, he truly sought the Lord, wrestling with what it meant to live a holy life in honor of his Creator. As he now rejoices in glory, fully healed with his Savior, we now remember and celebrate the impact he had on this earth. His legacy is forever remembered by those who survive him; sisters and brothers-in-law Julie and Joe Franey and Jody and Butch Kinkade, nephews Zach, Chris, and Matt Franey, niece Jolie Ann Kinkade, god-daughter Jaden Shipley, daughters and son-in-law Annalise Hunnicutt and Kendall and Colston Reese, grandson Wayland Allen Reese, doggie Duncan, and beloved wife Lisha Hunnicutt.
