Robert Herman Hefner

A Life Remembered Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Uncle, and friend. Rev. 14;13 "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord...they will rest from their labor for their deeds will follow them." Bob Hefner was born in Redwood City, CA (at home) on January 12, 1929. God extended his hand and invited Bob into his Kingdom on August 23, 2024. Bob was surrounded by his family and friends on the days before he went to his forever home. Bob married the love of his life, Sheila Hefner. Sheila passed away on April 2, 2024, they were married 72 years. They left a Christian legacy together. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Dana Coughlin. Bob is survived by, daughters Leslie Hutchings and Penney Morrelli, brothers-in-laws Paul Feusier and Robert Feusier, sons-in-laws Dannye Hutchings, Robert Morrelli and Jim Coughlin, daughter-in-law Kelley Coughlin, 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Bob became a Christian with Sheila at a Billy Graham Crusade. From that day on he served the Lord with all his heart, soul, and body. Bob was the best listener, and we looked forward to his notes on our "Daily Bread" devotionals. Bob was an active member of Gateway church and a faithful servant of the Lord. Many children at church called him "Grandpa Bob." For several years Bob could be found in the nursey playing on the floor with children or pushing them in a stroller. Bob was also an usher. He also visited shut ins and gave them communion. Bob gave the best prayers and was known for always having a smile. Bob and Sheila enjoyed several trips together. Their favorite places to go was the Apple Farm in San Luis Obispo, and Hume Lake. Their anniversary gift to their children was a weekend trip to Hume Lake for a couple's retreat. Bob and Sheila would also take care of the grandchildren this weekend, which usually included one or more soccer games and taking them to church. Bob loved working in the yard, playing with the grandchildren and attending grandchildren's games. Bob was involved with Sheila in "Bible & Breakfast." Bob and Sheila were always available to all their family at any time. During the holidays, birthdays, and other family activities you would always go to Bob and Sheila's house for a magnificent home-cooked meal and lots of love. Bob was proud of his family, and we can never thank him enough for all his support and prayers. Phil 4: 6-7 ""Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God", ""And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus". A Celebration of Bob & Sheila's life will be September 8 at 2:00 PM at Gateway Church Visalia. Memorials for Bob could be for Gateway Church, Gideon Bibles, or an organization of your choice.
