Pauline Lee Badgley

Long time Visalia resident Pauline Badgley passed away on Thanksgiving day. Beloved wife of Dr. Robert Badgley, devoted mother to Carolyn Dukes of Fresno and Michael Badgley (Sandra) of Santa Clarita, and delighted grandmother of Josh, Connor, and Lucas, she leaves a legacy of love to her family, friends, and neighbors. Born January 15, 1944 to Leverette and Hazel (Cassatt) House in Brawley, CA she was the middle child between Helen (Seabolt) and Jane (Samaniego). A Job's Daughter Past Honored Queen, she also excelled academically at Brawley Union High School where she was a member of the California Scholastic Federation. She attended University of California at Santa Barbara and University of California Los Angeles and was the first in family to graduate college. While studying at UCSB, Pauline met Bob Badgley and soon the two were college sweethearts. Two years later, they married and relocated to Los Angeles where Pauline finished her degree at UCLA and Bob attended USC pharmacy school. Their Bruin - Trojan rivalry kept spicy their 61 years marriage. Pauline taught middle school in LA while Bob finished Pharmacy school and did his residency. They moved to Visalia once they started their family and Bob worked at then purchased Boyd's Pharmacy. After growing their family with babies and beagles, Pauline worked from home for over 30 years as the Boyd's Pharmacy office manager. In addition to supporting her children's activities in scouts, sports, and music, Pauline was active in the American Association of University Women, chaired the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days for a few years and founded a book club. She was an outstanding cook active in a couples Gourmet Group; an excellent card player; enjoyed puzzles, games and mysteries; and trips to the ocean. Making you laugh so hard you'd both pee your pants, Pauline will be remembered for her great gift of loyal friendship. Her caring good nature and sharp wit made for excellent companionability.
