Paul Valente Contreras

Paul Valente Contreras, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2026, in Visalia, California. Paul was born on October 7, 1953, in Dinuba, California, to Dolores and Leonardo Contreras. He grew up in Orosi, California, where he built lifelong connections and memories that shaped the man he would become. Paul dedicated many years of service working for Caltrans, where he assisted with landscaping maintenance along California highways. He also worked as a stagehand, helping set up and take down concerts, musicals, and events throughout the Fresno area. A familiar and beloved voice to many, Paul proudly served as the announcer for Orosi High School home football games. Paul enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-playing golf, reading, talking sports, and spending time with friends and family. He was a devoted fan of the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers and rarely missed a chance to talk about the latest game. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Dolores and Leonardo Contreras, his sister Delia Contreras, his brother, Leonard Contreras, and his nephew, David Contreras. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Victoria Contreras; his daughter, Veronica Valles; and his son-in-law, Emilio Valles. He is also survived by his brothers Joe (Franchelle) Contreras and Raul (Belinda) Contreras; his sisters Gloria (Steve) Marcial, Sally Contreras (Henry Rodriguez), Alice (Rodney) Lovley, and Lydia (Alberto) Corrales, sister in law Ramona Contreras; and many loving nieces and nephews. Paul will be remembered for his quick wit, loving heart, and gift for conversation. His laughter, stories, and warm presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Viewing will be held 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, February 9th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday, February 10th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 10th, 2026 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
