Marion Jeanne Sampson

Marion Jeanne Sampson, 82, resident of Visalia passed away on November 18, 2013. Marion was born in Inglewood, California on May 31, 1931 to Harold and Edna Thompson. She passed away peacefully on November 18, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Dale Sampson. They enjoyed their life together and were married for 33 years before his passing in 1987. They began their life together in Inglewood California where they adored the southern California beaches. It always remained one of her favorite memories of taking in the southern California sunshine. They later moved their family to Porterville California, where they raised their children and welcomed three grandchildren. During her 30 years in Porterville she enjoyed raising her family, they together enjoyed their SCE family, enjoyed their RV excursions, and dancing. Marion enjoyed working at The Porterville Recorder, Brides and Belles Bridal Shoppe and Dr. Wareham D.D.S. After the death of Jack she then moved to Visalia, California to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending The Neighborhood Church, Visalia Christian Ministries Bible & Breakfast with Pastor Westbrook on Wednesday mornings, was a member of Christian Women’s Club for many years, also belonged to Serpralo Womens Group at the Methodist Church, was a member of the 7-up Club for Neighborhood church, enjoyed working on her Creative Memories photo albums, playing Hand and Foot with her group of ladies, and Newcomer’s Club of Visalia. She later welcomed three great-grandsons into this world that were in her eyes, the sweetest and cutest boys in the world. She was known to them as “Grammie”. Marion is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Edna Thompson, her sister Carol Greminger, and her husband Jack Sampson. She is survived by her daughter Wendy Stepps and son-in-law Arlie Stepps, son Mike Sampson and daughter-in-law Diane Sampson, nephew Doug Greminger and his wife Gail Greminger , granddaughters Tiffany Hernandez and Michelle McDonald, grandson Mikey Sampson, great- nephew Andrew Greminger and 3 great-grandsons Jaden Hernandez, Jack Hernandez, and Brooklyn McDonald. The family would like to thank the many nurses and staff at Kaweah Delta Medical Center, Delta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Optimal Hospice Care. We love you all. Services will be held Monday, November 25 at 11am at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia with a lunch reception to follow at Neighborhood Church 5505 W. Riggin Ave., Visalia.
