Maria Sandoval Jimenez

Today we celebrate the life of Maria Sandoval Jimenez, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, who passed away at age 90 under the loving care of the staff at Westgate Gardens. Born on September 6, 1934 in Artesia, New Mexico, she first lived in Lake Arthur, NM. At the age of eight her family moved and worked their way to California, stopping for a time in Buttonwillow. The family settled in Goshen, where they lived in a tent while her father built their home. Parents Daniel and Manuela Sandoval raised Maria and her brothers and sisters: Louie, Martin, Ben, Abran and Jesse, Paula, Molly, Eloisa and Anita, all of whom she will meet in Heaven. Her living siblings are Ynocencia, Carol, Margie, Daniel, Armando, George, Raquel, Juanita and Daniel Sandoval. On May 8, 1952 Maria married Reyes Vidrio Jimenez, "Lalo". They were married and lived in Goshen, California for over 70 years. Maria leaves six children to cherish her memory: Rudy (Sue), Eddie (Luisa), Ernie (Martha), Laura Ramirez, Mario and Nena Ceballos (Juan). "Grandma" leaves behind twenty-two grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and two on the way. Her beauty and love radiates in each of them. Maria worked for the Visalia Unified School District as a cafeteria cook in Goshen and Packwood Elementary Schools for over twenty-five years where she is remembered for her kindness, care and concern for all children (and great food). Whether remembered as Maria, Mom, Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma or friend, she will be remembered forever by all who encountered her quick wit and welcoming smile. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday, March 24th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will follow from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street, Visalia. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
