Mae W. Baldwin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mae Warren Baldwin Mae Warren Baldwin, 86, of Tulare, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, with her family by her side. Mae was born in Whitefield, Oklahoma, on November 15, 1926 to Walter and Amanda Warren. She was the fifth born of the couples' six children. Mae attended school in Porum, Oklahoma. Being a member of a large family during the Dust Bowl led to her leaving school after junior high to begin working and contributing to the family. Mae was always a firm believer in the benefit of education, and she later returned to school to earn her high school diploma. On July 3, 1947, Mae was married to Homer Edward, "Joe" Baldwin. The couple traveled from Oklahoma to make their home in the Salinas Valley of California. They had two sons, Larry Gene Baldwin and Joe Edward Baldwin. Following retirement, Mae and Joe moved to Tulare, where she spent the past 30 years. While living in the Salinas Valley, Mae worked seasonally in various agricultural jobs. However, her primary job was that of raising her family. Everyone who knew Mae knew that her family was her life. As her family grew to include daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mae's love also grew. She took great pride in making sure her family was always well fed and provided for. When she wasn't spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids, Mae enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting, visiting the casinos, and serving as her families' biggest fan at all of their athletic events. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Homer "Joe" Baldwin, and both her sons, Larry Baldwin and Joe Baldwin. Mae is survived by her daughters-in-law, Nancy Baldwin and Mary Baldwin, granddaughter, Michelle Baldwin Nunley and her husband, Greg, grandson, Thomas Baldwin and his wife, Amy, and 9 great-grandchildren, Brayden Nunley, Barrett (Bear) Nunley, Blaze Nunley, Braxton Nunley, Bellajah Nunley, Romello Harris, Haley Baldwin, Reese Baldwin, and Quinn Baldwin, all of Tulare. Visitations will be held at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel at 127 East Caldwell Avenue in Visalia, California on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, with burial afterwards at the Tulare Cemetery.
