LuzMaria Joanne Enriquez

LuzMaria Joanne Enriquez began her dance in heaven on February 17, 2018. At the age of 5 she went to serve the Lord. Luz was born to Emiliano and Jessica Enriquez on July 22, 2012. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Frank and Katrina Martinez. She is survived by her parents Emiliano and Jessica Enriquez of Visalia, her brother Dezi Isidro Frank Enriquez of Visalia, her grandparents Juan and Graciela Enriquez of Visalia, Dr. Raymond and Olga Pena of Woodlake, and Frank and Connie Minatta of Visalia, her Godparents John Lopez and Angelica Enriquez of Exeter and many loving family members and friends. From the moment she came into the world she lit up the room. She was a fighter, the first three months of her life Luz fought to live. At the age of 1 year old she was diagnosed with Kabuki syndrome. Despite many medical complications Luz was a happy, energetic, sweet, loving, independent child of God. Without saying a word Luz would light up the stage as she worshiped the Lord. Week after week Luz got up on stage danced, praised, and raised her hands up to God as she lead the praise team of her church CORE Ministries. She attended Annie R. Mitchell Elementary School. Luz was loved by her teachers she was the joy of the classroom. She was known as "Baby Luz" in the mornings students from the school would flock to her classroom to see what she was wearing, to play with her, putting a smile on her precious face. Luz was a gift from God, she captured the hearts of everyone she met. Day after day special memories and bonds were made between her mother and her "BuBub" Dezi. He was her protector the best big brother ever and did everything he could to keep her safe and make her happy, her mother was honored to take care of a one of a kind gift from God and gave everything she had to be the best Mom that Luz could have. She was the joy of her father's life and will always be his little cupcake. The last days of Luz's life were made special by her family and friends as they stood by her side at Valley Children's Hospital in the PICU waiting for God to take Luz to her never-ending party. Special thanks to the Dr.'s, nurses, and staff of the hospital that did everything that they could to prepare Luz and her family for her to leave this world. She entered the gates of heaven and for the first time ever she got to run into her Papa's arms and have her never ending dance, her Nana had a never-ending feast ready for her. We love you Luz let your light shine in heaven.
