Larry Wayne Edwards, Sr.

In Loving Memory of Larry Wayne Edwards, Sr. Larry Wayne Edwards, Sr. was born on December 12, 1952, in Burntcorn, Alabama, to West Edwards and Dorothy Edwards. At just six months old, Larry moved with his family to Tulare, California. By school age, he settled in Visalia, where he attended Cary Barnett Elementary School, Green Acres Middle School, and Redwood High School, graduating with the Class of 1971. He then attended San Jose State University, where he studied Business Administration. As a youth, Larry and his family were longtime members of Second Baptist Church in Visalia. In 2000, he joined St. John Missionary Church in Tulare, California, under Dr. Robert Charles where he faithfully served as a Deacon until his passing. Larry leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Tiarena Edwards, and his beloved children: Larry Wayne Edwards, Jr. (Sacramento, Ca) , Moya Jean Edwards (Visalia. Ca), Cody Paul Edwards (Fresno, Ca), West Isaiah Edwards (Visalia. Ca), Dorothy Taniah Edwards (Houston, TX), and Shea Hunt (Ft. Worth, TX). Larry took great pride in being a father. He ensured each of his children was loved, supported, and well cared for, his guidance continues to live within them. He is also survived by his siblings: Claude Milton Edwards (Margaret), Leonard Charles Edwards, Melinda Edwards, Maxine McCommick (Ernest), Dorothy Jean Huddleston, Larry D. Edwards (Yolanda) along with many cousins, extended family members, and friends. Larry was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to the metal industry, beginning his career under the guidance of his father, West Edwards, his Uncle Jeff Dailey, Sr., and alongside his five brothers. Over the years he met countless people in the trade-many of whom became lifelong friends. Larry took pride in teaching others, helping them learn the craft and build a good, honest living. A proud grandfather, Larry cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. Whether watching sports, attending family gatherings, or sharing laughter, he brought joy and warmth to every room he entered. Known for his kindness, gentle spirit, and generous heart, Larry touched the lives of all who knew him. Forever in Our Hearts Larry's legacy of love, strength, faith, and kindness. We rejoice in the memory of a man who gave selflessly, loved deeply, and enriched the lives of everyone around him. 26,752 days JOB WELL DONE. Larry is preceded in death by his parents: West Edwards and Dorothy Byrd-Edwards, his siblings: Acie Paul Wilson, James Edwards, Chester Edwards, Leslie Edwards, Iris Edwards, Mary Johnson, Willie Rollins and Charles Edwards. Visitation will take place from 4-7pm on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 10:30am on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the same location. Interment will be held at 1:00 PM at Visalia District Cemetery. A reception will be hosted from 12-5:00pm at Salser & Dillard Life Event Center.
