Kenneth Neal Loy, Sr.

On February 25, 2024, Kenneth Neal Loy Sr (Ken) passed away peacefully at home in Visalia surrounded by his family, friends and caregivers. Ken was born in Kingsburg, Ca in 1948 to Kenneth and Iona Loy. Ken grew up in the Cutler-Orosi area with his 2 brothers, Craig and Gary and sister Lynn. As a child he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his family, but he also loved playing chess and reading books. Ken attended and graduated from Orosi High School and Fresno State University where he received his Bachelor degree in History. After graduating he began his 20-plus year career as a Social Worker for The County of Tulare in Visalia. In 1972, while working with the County he met the love of his life, the one and only, Judy Kazuko Takeda. He loved telling the story on how he knew on their first date that she was the one for him and within a few months they were married. They were able to spend 43 years together, raising their one son Kenneth Neal Loy Jr (Kenny), spending time with their 2 grandkids, taking cruises and traveling the world, until her passing in 2016. Ken enjoyed reading, traveling the world with Judy, political debates, watching 60 Minutes every Sunday and buying Real Estate. He also enjoyed taking long walks in the morning to Starbucks for discussions of current events with total strangers, spending time with his grandchildren and hosting the annual 4th of July pool party celebration at his home. Ken will be missed dearly. And all who had the pleasure of meeting him, knew that he was one of a kind. As his son Kenny would say, "my dad is one in a million". Ken is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy and brother Gary Loy. He is survived by his son Kenneth N. Loy Jr (Kenny) and wife Liza Loy and 2 grandchildren, Micah and Kenneth Loy (Little Kenny). His brother Craig Loy (Mickey) and his sister Lynn Warren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Celebration Of Life services will follow from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Graveside services will be held privately. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
