John Anthony Florendo

Born January 13, 1969, Tony was 52 years when he succumbed to his second battle against Leukemia. Survived by his children Matthew Florendo and Stasha Fierro of Visalia. Anthony Florendo and Tawni Florendo of Gilroy. His Mother, Irma Figueroa and siblings Steven Soto, Celina Sierra, AJ Figueroa, and Annie Romero. His father, Louie Florendo and his wife Juanita and siblings Louie Florendo, David Florendo, Debi Qualls and Denise Hernandez, and Ann Marie Florendo. Tony leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Jacob Bass, Ezra Fierro, Aiden Bass, and Atticus Florendo-Roth. As well as 24 nieces and nephews among numerous extended family members and friends. Tony was beloved and liked by all who knew him. His personality was bigger than life at times. Even through his battle he found ways of using humor to mask his pain and offer relief to those who loved him. He portrayed a tough and rough exterior but once past the shell of the person you would find a heart of gold. Tony was a family man to the core. Incessantly, supportive and generous as a father, son, brother, and friend. Without a second thought he gave to others of what truly mattered in life; his time, assistance, and love. Always willing to give of himself in hopes of teaching a lesson along the way. As a thoughtful Brother and Uncle, he rarely missed an activity or game. Sitting in the stands encouraging his young nieces and nephews. To many he was a surrogate father figure and big brother. There were many passions in Tony's life. First came his family. To Tony, there was no greater joy than being a father. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Then his skills as a painter in the automotive industry. He loved working with color, a true compliment to his personality. Never a dull moment when Tony was present. He believed in working hard to accomplish a job well done. Tony took great pride in his professional skills. In the last 10 years he also worked at farmers markets. There he discovered a fulfillment working with people on a personal level. Another perfect match for his talent of conversation. Tony could strike up a conversation with anyone and he DID! Tony possessed a rare gift for storytelling, an ability to engage in entertaining talk and humor as he created laughter for those around. He was simply relatable. In his spare time, Tony looked forward to his long rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. This bike was a dream; a goal attained by his hard work. He remained a long and loyal dedicated fan to his favorite sports teams; the Raiders and Angels. Attending games when possible but always cheering them on. Once he made a connection, Tony did his best to maintain that connection in all aspects of his life. Tony was an Angel when we needed an Angel the most. A person we could depend on. He was always there to listen, give advice, and help walk you through difficult and happy times. Today he has fully spread his wings as he accepted Christ before his passing. The love and memories he shared will last his loved ones a lifetime. Goodbye for now, until our last breath we meet again! We thank you for always being there. We love you.
