James Robert Irvine, Jr

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, James Robert "Bob" Irvine passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 59 years. Bob is survived by his loving wife Minh, children, Mike, Josh, Sean (Nikki), Dan, Chris (Preslee), granddaughter Victoria, parents Bob and Cherrie, and siblings, Liz (Andrew), Jennie (Tom), and Matt (Nickie). He will be remembered dearly by family, members of his church, colleagues, co-workers, the many boy scouts he mentored and numerous neighbors with whom he fostered lasting friendships. Bob was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. After attending Brighton High School, he met his first wife Debbie with whom he had his first 2 boys, Mike and Josh. In April 1983, he enlisted in the United States Navy and would serve for 6 years of active duty where he discovered his passion for computers that would guide his career for the rest of his life. In 1997, while working at Lam Research in Fremont, CA, he asked for a dance with a beautiful lady named Minh. His heart had found its final home with hers and they married in Las Vegas on January 2, 1998. Minh also had 2 boys, Sean and Dan, and together she and Bob had Chris in February 2000. Bob was sealed to Minh and Chris for time and eternity in the Oakland LDS Temple on January 2, 2004. In 2014, he completed his Bachelors Degree in Business and IT Management and in July 2021, he became the happiest grandfather to Victoria "Tori" Kirby. Bobby inherited a love of carpentry from his father and reading from his mother. His first memory was holding his baby sister Liz when they brought her home from the hospital. He loved to travel and experience different cultures throughout the world. He was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and known for his many acts of service and dedication. He served as a scoutmaster for The Boy Scouts of America, leading and teaching young men for almost two decades. He was a true family man and a generous soul, constantly giving of his time and talents to help others whenever he could. He was a romantic to his sweetheart and an example of what it meant to be a child of God and of unconditional love for his boys. He positively impacted everyone he met and will be greatly missed. Viewing will be held 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM Friday, September 1st, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4000 West Caldwell Avenue, Visalia. Funeral services will follow from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, September 1st, 2023 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia.
