Hettie Louise Wallis

Hettie Louise Wallis passed away on February 27, 2023 in Exeter, CA at the age of 93. Louise was born on October 3, 1929 in Gurdon, Arkansas to Hugh Thomas Thrasher and Hester Jones Thrasher. She grew up in Gurdon and then later moved to Farmersville, CA in 1936 at the age of seven. The family then moved to Ivanhoe, CA in 1944. Louise welcomed her first child Wanda Lou Pike on August 1, 1948. Then her second daughter Sharon Fae Pike on December 2, 1951 and on March 24, 1953 she was pleasantly surprised with welcoming her twin daughters Brenda Mae Pike and Linda Kae Pike. Louise then met the love of her life Charles Wallis and were married on December 3, 1962 and shared a marriage for 57 years. They lived most of those years on a ranch in Woodlake, CA before moving to Exeter, CA where they lived the rest of their lives always together. Louise enjoyed knitting and always having several fresh plants surrounding her in her home. She worked in a nursery in Visalia, CA for a couple of years. One of her proudest jobs was being a grandmother and she had the privilege of raising her grandson Richard Pike like a son from infancy until the day she passed away. Richard and his wife Rosie will always be grateful for all she did for them especially in helping them care for their daughters throughout the years. Louise was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren with one more on the way for a total of 40 and 4 great great grandchildren. She also had 4 nieces and 7 nephews who blessed her life. Louise is survived by her sister Olafay Aldridge, her daughters Wanda Brown, Brenda Woodruff and Linda Woodruff. Her 16 grandchildren Jaime Peck(Diane), Bryan Peck, Richard Pike(Rosie), Christina Plummer, Kimberly Hernandez(Thiesen), Aaron Pike, Debbie Plummer, Rick Avila Jr., Miranda Harrell(Stephen), David Avila, Michael Blair(Rosie), Steffni Blair, Justin Pike(Lena), Jacob Woodruff, Kayla Minjares(Juan), Michael Villegas(Candy) and 40 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Louise is preceded in death by her husband Charles Wallis, her brothers Hugh Thrasher Jr., Roy Thrasher and Therman Thrasher, her sisters Stella Davidson and Gladys Core her daughter Sharon Villegas and her granddaughter Lisa Garza. Louise will be deeply missed and remembered lovingly by all. Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia.
