Hermenegilda Rangel Pena

Grandma Pena was born in Cameron Texas on May 04, 1931 to Joaquin and Maria Rangel. She left her home at 15 years old to begin working in the mission field. She established several churches throughout Mexico and there are some that are still there to this day. She went to college in Monterey Mexico and then she went to Isleta in El Paso Texas and graduated in Ministry. She also attended LABI where she obtained her Doctorate in Theology. Grandma married Pedro Perez Pena at age 25 and they were married until he passed in 1979. They had 6 children together, Margo De La Torre, Albert Pena, Hector Pena, Bernice Quintero, Pedro Pena Jr, Neftaly Pena. 21 Grandchildren, 40 Great grandchildren and 1 Great, Great Grandchild. She is proceeded by her parents, spouse, siblings, and granddaughter. Grandma Pena was a Nurse all her life. She cared for many elderly patients throughout her lifetime. She was also the Dean of Students at the University of Texas Pan-American. The girls loved her and respected her. Grandma's hobbies were crocheting, reading her Bible, cooking. teaching and spending time with her family. Everyone who met Grandma Pena knew that she was a prayer warrior and mighty women of God who was always strong in her faith. Grandma's family was her pride and joy. All she wanted was to see her children serving the Lord. She valued her time in her church La Nueva Jerusalem where she attended since 1978. She was very committed to the Lord and to her church. She did anything she could to serve in the church she would clean the church, make tamales, and teach the adults in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Grandma Pena fought the good fight, finished the race and she kept the faith. God blessed her with 92 years of life and she impacted the lives of many while she was here. She will be greatly missed but I know she has reached her goal and is rejoicing in heaven. Viewing will be held 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at La Nueva Jerusalem, 1837 N Court St, Visalia. Prayer Service will follow from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. Reception services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at La Nueva Jerusalem. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
