Gilbert Valencia Ruiz

It is with great sadness that the family of Gilbert Ruiz announces his passing on Friday, June 19,2020 at the age of 92 years. Gilbert was born on September 1st, 1927 to Secundino Ruiz and Lionor Ruiz. His siblings are Ysdrio Ruiz, Domingo Ruiz, Edna Ruiz, Antonia Hernandez, Lutteria Moreno, Samuel Ruiz, Sista Duran and Sokey Ruiz. Gilbert is preceded in death by his wife Della who he was married to for over 50 years. They had three children. Jessie Ruiz, Linda Gojara and Marie Randles. He has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren who will remember him fondly. Gilbert served in the Air Force during World war two and you'd be surprised to know that he was a drill sergeant. He would tell us he had to make those boys cry so they could survive the war. He was very proud of his country and his service to it. He was known to stand for the National anthem during any event, even if he was just in your living room. If you were fortunate enough to have known Gilbert, then you know what a beautiful soul he was. He was one of the most kind and caring men you'll ever meet. He never had an ill word for anyone and treated his wife, kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids like treasures. He set the bar on what an amazing husband, father and grandfather should be. He had a great sense of humor and there wasn't much that would ruffle his feathers. He has given the family countless wonderful memories and he will be forever missed. There will never be another like him. This is not Goodbye, it's see you later. Save a dance for us. The Funeral Service details for Gilbert Ruiz are as follows: The Rosary is on Wednesday, July 1st at 6 pm with a Viewing from 4-6pm. The Funeral will be on Thursday, July 2nd at 9 am. Graveside Service to follow at the Visalia Cemetery. Both the Rosary and Funeral will be at the Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia. If you are planning on attending, the Family is requesting that you wear a face mask. It's very important to us that all who attend are as safe as possible. At a later date we hope to have a Celebration of Life for Gilbert but at this time we are not having a reception. Again, the safety of all is the most important thing. We don't want anyone else to have to go through the death of a loved one because of the corona virus.
