Franklin Kelly McGrew, beloved son, brother, husband, dad, Papa Bear, uncle, and friend, passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 75, following a courageous 132-day battle with glioblastoma. Born on June 29, 1950, in Fresno, California, to Howard and Cletus McGrew, Frank was the youngest of five siblings raised in the Chowchilla area. From an early age, he developed a strong faith, steady character, and love of the outdoors that would define his life. Frank lived a life marked by generosity, leadership, and deep devotion to God. He was known for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness. A faithful servant at Koinonia Church in Hanford, California, he served as an elder and faithfully prayed over others as part of the prayer team. Frank led not only with words, but by example-showing up when it mattered most, offering steady counsel, and making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Above all, Frank was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deborah McGrew, whom he loved faithfully and wholeheartedly; his daughter, Stephanie Moglia (Steve); his son, David McGrew; and his cherished grandchildren, Madison Rogers, Macie Rogers, Wyatt Rogers, and Lawson McGrew, who all lovingly called him "Papa Bear." He is also survived by his sister, Janice Crockett (Donald), brother-in-laws, David Walters, Robert Walters, Ronnie Little, and sister-in-law Letha McGrew. His family will forever treasure his guidance, steady presence, and unconditional love. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Ima Hurt, Barbara Little, and Douglas McGrew; and his decades-long friend, Clifton Pierce. Frank found great joy in the simple things in life-early mornings spent hunting or just scouting for deer, days spent on the lake fishing, time at the beach, and especially moments surrounded by his grandchildren. Whether casting a line, looking for deer, or cheering from the sidelines, he treasured time together. The outdoors was one of the places he felt closest to God, and he shared that love freely with those around him. The family is deeply grateful for the many friends and loved ones who supported Frank during his illness-driving him to appointments and radiation treatments, bringing meals, visiting, and covering him and the family in prayer. Your love carried them through an incredibly difficult season. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to Koinonia Church, Hanford, CA (Selma Project). Frank will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Though his family grieves his absence, they rejoice in the assurance that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
