Esther Colmenero

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Esther Colmenero, who left this world peacefully, reunited in heaven with her husband Silvestre Colmenero, just two months after his passing. Esther and Silvestre shared over 35 years of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another and to their family. Esther was the proud mother of four children: Irene, Margaret, Gilbert, and Ana. She was a grandmother to 16 grandchildren, six of whom she and Silvestre lovingly raised as their own: Rose, Selina, Gina, Carmen, Desiree, and Georgie. She also leaves behind 34 great-grandchildren, including three angels who rest in heaven with her, and eight great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Each one of them held a special place in her heart, and her love and connection to them were truly unmatched. Esther had the biggest heart. She gave selflessly-not only to her family but to anyone in need. Her home was always open, her hands always helping, and her love always abundant. She was a constant caregiver, especially to her late son Gilbert, whom she cared for daily until his final breath. Her unconditional love was her superpower. Later in life, Esther moved back to her hometown of Woodlake, California, with the hope of caring for her dear Tia Phyllis, not knowing that she herself would soon be faced with dementia. During that difficult time, her daughter Margaret returned the love and care Esther had always given, staying by her side and lovingly tended to her until the very end. Esther was soft-hearted but strong-willed. Once she made up her mind, there was no turning back. She was a woman of conviction, generosity, and fierce love. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched and in the generations she helped shape. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her husband Silvestre, her son Gilbert, and other loved ones who have gone before her.
