Eli Robert Altamirano

It is with profound sadness the we announce the passing of our beloved Eli Altamirano, age 24, of Visalia, California. Eli passed away from injuries sustained in a tragic motor vehicle accident on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Eli was born on July 18, 2002, in Visalia, California, to Steven and Shelby Altamirano. He attended Willow Glen Elementary School and Visalia Early College High School before graduating from Redwood High School in 2020. Our Eli was our sun. He brought warmth and light everywhere he went, and his love touched everyone lucky enough to know him. He was simply magic. Everything he did was led with love. Eli never let a moment pass without making sure the people he loved knew how much they meant to him. His hugs were warm, his smile was contagious, and his conversations were even warmer. He absolutely adored his mom, and the feeling was mutual. His dad was his best friend, and Eli was his. He loved being a brother to Jasmine and Tyson and an uncle to our Riggs. He treasured the love he shared with his girlfriend, Maddy, and he never walked away from any of us without saying, "I love you," and giving a full-body hug, leaving us with memories we'll hold close for the rest of our lives. Eli loved baseball, strangers, animals, the outdoors, fishing, music, old movies and random facts. He found joy in the simple things and had a quiet way of making everyone around him feel welcome, seen, and loved. His heart was open to everyone he met, and he loved fiercely and listened deeply. Beneath his gentle spirit was a mischievous streak that was simply part of his charm. Whether he was playfully teasing someone or sharing another random fact, he had a way of making ordinary moments unforgettable. Though he left us far too soon, his kindness, gentle spirit, quiet strength, mischievous heart, and unwavering love will live on in all of us. Eli was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Roberto Altamirano and Richard Smith. He is survived by his loving parents, Steven and Shelby Altamirano; his sister, Jasmine Wilson and her husband, Gage, and their son, our Riggs, whom Eli adored; his brother, Tyson Altamirano; and his beloved girlfriend, Madyson Henderson. Our Eli was, and always will be, our sun. His light will always remain with us. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. "It's an honor to be in grief.
