Donald Raymond Card

Donald Raymond Card of Woodlake, California passed away on October 27, 2020. He was born on October 14, 1931 in Los Angeles, California to Calvin and Laura (Cook) Card. He was proceeded in death by his first wife Willeen (Coffman) Card, his sister Evelyn Hughey, his daughters Debbie Chinn and Sharon Leslie, step-son Robert Houchens and his life-long friend Eddie Quintana. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Kathleen Card, brother Norman Card and his wife Millie, his brother-in-law Gary Coffman, daughters Dianne Card, Jennifer Woltring and step-daughter Seger Ramirez. He is also survived by his grandchildren Elliot Chinn, Logan Chinn, Sarah Barnett and her husband Jeff, Erika Fikstad, Nicholas Fikstad and great-grandchildren Emma Van Es, Jolene Barnett and Sylus Barnett. Don grew up on a farm in Corcoran before joining first the Navy and then the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force Don served on the ship the U.S.S. Norton Sound as well as in England and in Idaho. After his retirement from the Air Force Don, Willeen and their girls moved to Visalia. After earning a degree in electronics, Don found employment at Visalia Sight and Sound where he worked as a television and VCR repairman until his retirement. He was an excellent handyman who loved to fix things for anyone who needed help. He enjoyed working on remodeling and repair jobs around the house. After Willeen's passing he met and married Kathleen Houchens. Don and Kathy spent 40 happy years together going out dancing, traveling the country and spending time with family. Don was a much beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a generous big-hearted man who would bend over backwards to help friends and family. Don was always smiling and loved to tell stories, especially about his days in the military. He had a silly sense of humor and loved playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the rock of our family and will be deeply missed. Fly High Grandpa Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 9:30 am at Woodlake Public Cemetery, 165 N Cypress St, Woodlake, CA.
