Carroll Gene Wickert

Carroll Wickert of Hanford, California passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on May 30, 1940 in Lewistown, Illinois, to Ronal and Violet Wickert and grew up in Astoria, Illinois. Carroll graduated from Astoria High School in 1958 and soon after proudly enlisted in the United States Navy. While stationed at Lemoore Naval Air Station in California, Carroll met Marilyn Weisser, and the two were married shortly after his discharge in November 1962. They shared 45 wonderful years together until her passing. Later in life, Carroll was blessed to find love again and married Dona Hofer Burson. Carroll dedicated 32 years of hard work to Pirelli/Armstrong Tire Company, where he built lifelong friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues. Upon retirement, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life - fishing, camping, traveling in his RV but most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Dona, his sons Dr. Brian (Jane) Wickert and Steven (Irene) Wickert, stepson John Riggs and stepdaughter Ruth (Dave) Moline. Carroll's legacy also lives on through his grandchildren Kaylee, Christopher (Wife Devlynn and stepson Aidan Bach), Jessica (son Walker Wickert Hallenberg), Samantha, Sebastian (wife Amanda, daughters Viviana and Olivia), Dylan (wife Justine and daughter Violet) Wickert, and Trevor and Davis Moline. He is also survived by his brothers Dean (Carol) Wickert and Quentin (Diane) Wickert, and sisters-in-law Marilyn Wickert and Beverly Wickert. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marilyn, his brothers Roy and Dennis and a sister Glenna Wickert. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of the outdoors, and the devotion he showed to his family throughout his life. Visitation will be held 4-7pm Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Graveside services will be held 10am Monday, November 3rd, 2025 at Grangeville Cemetery, 10428 14th Ave, Armona. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
