Bonnie Vanna Perez

Bonnie Vanna Perez was born in Visalia, California on April 30th, 2003, to Tasha and Joaquin Perez at Kaweah Delta Medical Center. She was the first niece and granddaughter, thus making her the princess of the family. She grew up with her grandparents, aunts and uncles living in the same home early on until her parents moved into a home just next door. For a time, she was able to visit her grandmother and grandfather, aunts, and uncles whenever her heart often led her little feet to do so. Her family remained extraordinarily tight knit, taking two family trips per year as a clan, spending a week at the beach in the summer and a week in a cabin at Shaver Lake during the snowy winter. Also catching up on church Sundays and finding any reason to share time and the best meals under the heavens together. These early days were filled with family gatherings and watching Vanna and her favorite person in the world and beloved little brother, Aaron, sing, dance, and play with their cousins. Following in her family's footsteps, Vanna attended kindergarten at Delta View Elementary the last year before its closure and graduated from Kit Carson Elementary in 2017. She graduated Mt. Whitney High School in 2021 with honors and a CNA certificate and was continuing her 2nd year at College of the Sequoias. Vanna's greatest passions became intertwined- reading, writing, art, music, Faith, and her family. She decided that she would not pursue a career in nursing and would instead, chart a different course than the rest of her family by becoming an art history teacher. The life she led from that point on demonstrated an amalgamation of all the things in Vanna's heart and mind, seeing and expressing herself to her family and friends as their most beloved poem by the way she lived her life. She was also a hopeless romantic and was saving herself for the right young man. Working at Vans with her friends became the place for further expression, freedom, and thriving in all that she planned to become. Nothing put a spark in her eye like talking about her baby sister on the way. She simply could not wait for the day to hold her baby sister in her arms. Inevitably, she began nesting with her mother, buying baby outfits, and collecting books she was going to read to Honey. Having just returned from the clan's summer beach trip, Vanna had so many plans and hope for the future, including a dinner time with her best friend and cousin, Graciela Jimenez, and her upcoming Twenty-One Pilots concert. Vanna's favorite season was the Fall and she was looking forward to pumpkin spice cold brews and cardigans. Her creative work consisted of her journal, personal note jar, Bible Study notes, paintings, drawings, sculptures, shoe collection, music playlists, iPhone video clips, and her beloved book library, giving us a beautiful glimpse into the mind of our precious Vanna Banana. On Friday, August 12th, Vanna was on her way to work when she suffered a tragic motor vehicle accident. She was taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center where she fought alongside the nurses, doctors, healthcare team and her beloved family that never left her bedside. Vanna passed away Saturday August the 13th at 10:52 a.m. and entered the Lord Jesus' Eternal Glory. Vanna was preceded in death by her grandfather Ruben Silva and many other family members. She is survived by her father Joaquin Perez, mother Tasha Silva-Perez, brother Aaron Perez, unborn sister Honey Rhea Perez, grandmother Bonnie Silva-Perez, grandfather Angel Perez, grandmother Rebecca Perez, uncle Adam Silva, aunt Karla Silva, cousins Luke, Caleb and Asher Silva, aunt Lilia Thompson and cousins Tony and Alicia Thompson, uncle Luis Penaloza, aunt Janelle Silva-Penaloza, uncle Daniel "Mijo" Jimenez, and uncle Marcos Perez. Vanna is now living in Eternity and will forever live on in our hearts. Vanna's Celebration of life will be held from 12:30pm-4:30pm at The T.D.E.S. Portuguese Hall of Tulare, located at 515 N I St, Tulare Ca 93274.
