Beverly DeParsia Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Beverly J. DeParsia March 10, 1930 - December 30, 2017 Beverly Jean DeParsia passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Dec 30, 2017, in Visalia; CA. Beverly was born in Los Banos, CA on March 10, 1930 to Manual and Dorothy DeParsia. She lived there with her family until she attended college at the College of the Pacific, Stockton, CA. While attending college she met and married Fred Owen. They moved to Berkeley, CA where Fred Sr. continued his law studies and their son, Fred Jr. was born. In the early 50s, they moved to Bakersfield where their three daughters Kathy, Debra, and Terry were born. Beverly was active in many organizations such as Assistance League, Toastmasters and PTA. In the late 60's, she started a modeling agency, television commercial acting and self-improvement school in Bakersfield. She joined an international modeling organization and was able to take her students to New York for the International Modeling Competition. In the summer of 1980 she moved to the island of Maui, Hawaii where she continued her modeling and self-improvement business and enjoyed living the aloha life. When her father became ill in 1989, she moved back to Los Banos to care for him. In Los Banos she worked with the Los Banos Chamber, Los Banos Museum and was a volunteer for many organizations. Beverly enjoyed taking writing classes and was in the process of documenting her family's history. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manual and Dorothy and her brother, Frank. She is survived by her son, Fred Owen; her daughters, Kathy Wilson and her husband, Bill of Kernville, CA; daughter Debra Owen of Santa Rosa, CA; Terry Hebert and her husband, Ken of Visalia, CA; grandchildren Salvadore and his wife Betty LiOwen, Alisha Owen; Eric Wilson, Ross and his wife Ellie Hebert, Katie Hebert and Kelsey Hebert; and four great grandchildren Alanna, Donovan, Aubrey LiOwen, and Kaden Owen along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Esperanza Hansen, Arnold Gonzalez and the lovely staff at Magnolia Park in Visalia for their loving care and compassion during her stay there. We would also like to thank Optimal Hospice during Beverly's last days. Beverly's request was to have her ashes scattered over Maui, Hawaii. In lieu of flowers, she would want you to donate to the charity of your choice.
