With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Angie Fernandez Sanchez, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Angie was called to Heaven on February 6, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family at her home in Visalia. A true matriarch, her life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and her devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Blessed Mother. She taught her children the power of prayer and importance of service. May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Angie was 88 years old, she was born to Julius and Frances Fernandez on May 28, 1937, in Los Angeles, California. As a child, her family moved from Los Angeles to Tulare County. Angie grew up in Tulare and Visalia, where she attended elementary schools and Redwood High School. Angie often talked about growing up in Tulare and Visalia. She attended Sundale Elementary School, telling the story about the mean teacher who threw a pull-down map across the classroom. She talked about going to Redwood High School, going down Main Street for lunch and that people could "Cruise Main" because it was a two-way street back then. Angie loved telling stories about growing up in the 1950's. It was her favorite era and she often said, "the 50's was the best." She loved the music and reminisced about dressing up and attending local dances with her brothers and sisters. These were Angie's "Happy Days". Angie worked as an Instructional Aide for the Farmersville School District, while raising her four children. Working for a total of thirty years, her career offered different opportunities, including Community Aide work and interpreting at the Exeter Court House. Angie enjoyed reading, cooking and dining out, loved World War II movies, Western movies, Pismo Beach and Las Vegas. She absolutely loved telling stories about her cousins who served in World War II, she was so proud. Angie was a dedicated member of Good Shepard Catholic Church. Family would like to thank American Quality life hospice especially Stephanie (RN), Ginger (LVN), and Serena (Nurse Aide) for their for their compassionate care, unwavering support, and comfort She will be missed by her four children: George (Benita), Julio, Irene (Gustavo) and Vincent (Sedelia). Her grandchildren; Anthony, Sabrina, Adam, Stephanie, Aaron, Vance and Seraya. Great-grandchildren, Gracie, Genna, Sophia, Eric and George II. She is survived by her brothers and sisters; Tony Fernandez, Anita Rodarte, Frances Guajardo and Joe Fernandez She is preceded in death by sisters Virgina Paez, Alice Castro, Helen Paiz, brother Louie Fernandez and granddaughter Angelica Chavez Angie will truly be missed by all. Viewing will be held 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Sunday, February 22nd, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Monday, February 23rd, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street, Visalia. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 23rd, 2026 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. A live webcast will be available at time of Rosary.
