Allen Ray Smith

Allen Ray Smith went peacefully into the loving arms of his savior on February 26, 2022. The Lord welcomed Allen home saying "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord." (Matt. 25:23) Allen was born on July 19, 1950 in Visalia, California to Louis and Imogene (nee Kyle) Smith. He was a resident of Tulare County most of his life and worked various jobs in his youth, but for many years was a heavy equipment operator, until his retirement. Allen loved the Lord and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Farmersville. He had a passion for the homeless and worked for many years not only feeding and clothing those on the streets, but also spreading to them the joy of the gospel. Allen loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Allen was preceded in death by his Father Louis and his Mother Imogene, his son Robert (Bubba) Smith and his great grandson Clyde James (CJ) Taylor. He is survived by his wife Glenda (Farmersville), sister Connie Smith (Farmersville), sister Donna Smith (Farmersville) brother David Smith (Arkansas), brother Michael Smith (Farmersville), daughter Christina Alvarado (Visalia) son Larry Smith,( Bakersfield), and son Casey Smith (Bakersfield). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Allen will be dearly missed by his family and all those who knew him, but we know that Allen has gone to a better place. In his final moments on this earth, Allen told his family he was ready to go home to be with the Lord. We who know and love Christ know that our hope is not in this life but in the life to come. There will be a Celebration of Life for Allen Ray Smith on March 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm, at the First Assembly of God Church, 867 E. Ash St, Farmersville, CA. Flowers can be sent to the church the day of the services on or after around 10 a.m. A reception will follow. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
