NAME: Albert ‘Al’ Herrera AGE: 69 RESIDENT OF: Visalia DATE OF DEATH: May 3, 2015 OCCUPATION: Quality Control Inspector PLACE OF DEATH: Visalia Al, A Gentleman, A Loving Husband & Father, A Master Gardener, A Prince of a Man… Al married the love of his life Anna, 48 years later they never have left each other’s side until Sunday morning Al died suddenly in his love’s arms. Al was born in Cutler, CA, raised on the family ranch in Yettem, where he made ranching apart of his life; he was a man of integrity and with deep love for family. He graduated Redwood High School, attended COS and later served his country in the Viet Nam conflict. Al worked as an Inspector at Pirelli Armstrong Tire Company in Hanford for 33 years. After that time he has worked for the VUSD as a part time maintenance worker and grounds person. There his talents were recognized not only by staff but by the whole community as a Master Gardner by beautifying the school grounds. He was a self-starter and always finished his projects with great pride. Should the truth be told he took the position to fund his Vintage Model A car named “Molly”. He was a proud member of the Sacred Heart Church in Exeter, Al was named Man of the year, what a very special privilege. Al and Anna loved to go dancing with their best friends Dick and Vivian, and they loved to travel. But, most of all he adored his daughters and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be private at Visalia District Cemetery.
