Walter Roscoe Winchell

November 6, 1933 - March 2, 2021

On Tuesday March 2, 2021, Walter Roscoe Winchell, loving husband and father of four children peacefully passed away with family by his side. Walter was born on November 6, 1933 to George Melvin and Leona Opal Winchell in Orleans, Nebraska. On July 3, 1953 Walter married Shirley Ann Strain, they were married for 67 years. Walter joined the Air Force in 1953 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1961. Walter began his career as a carpenter and established a company with his three brothers for over 40 years. Walter was an avid camper, fisherman and enjoyed traveling through out the United States with his family and later purchased several motor homes to continue these expeditions. Walter is survived by his loving wife Shirley, his four children Sally Maloy (Homer), Sandy Gatto (Jim), Walter Winchell (Ruth) and Darell Winchell (Edwina), 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery in Lodi, California at 12:00 pm.
