Velma Valenzuela, 69, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2021, at her home in Barstow, California. She was born in Visalia to Salvador and Agapita Dorado. She lived the majority of her life in Visalia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Martha Dorado, and brother, Richard Dorado. She is survived by her three children, Rachel Valenzuela, Valerie Valenzuela Valdez, and Christopher Valenzuela; grandchildren, Oscar Martinez, Xitlali, Adrian, Isai, and Angie Valdez, Julieana Carrillo, and Jacob and Maryann Valenzuela; and, her siblings, Gloria Longoria, Louie Dorado, Anita Gonzales, Art Dorado, Isabel Perez, and Mario Dorado. Velma was a loving and caring mother who raised her three children on her own. She loved her Spanish music, especially on the weekends while she was cleaning. She enjoyed cooking and was a great cook. She was a selfless person that always helped her family and friends. She loved spending time with her children, taking them to places like the Zoo, the local fair, the beach, Three Rivers and shopping. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, and treasured the time she spent with them. Velma will be missed by so many. A viewing will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m and Services will be held, Monday, October 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, California with a reception to follow. Graveside services will be private. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
