April 10, 1972 - July 3, 2021
Sandra Elizabeth (Luna) Quevedo, age 49, went home to be with the Lord on July 3rd 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandra was born on April 10th 1972 in Santa Paula, California to Irma Gonzalez. In addition to her mother, Sandra had a very close and special relationship with her grandmother, Juana Cardona. She was the oldest of four sisters. She graduated from Exeter Independent Study in 1991. Sandra was happily married to Francisco Quevedo, who was her partner in life for the past 28 years. She had four beautiful children, Joshua, Amanda, Julissa, Frankie and one granddaughter, Brae, who loved spending time with and taking selfies with her Grammy. In addition to raising her own children, Sandra often watched children for friends and family and eventually made a career of it when she opened Sandra's Daycare in 2006. Sandra's daycare children loved her so much that they often wanted to stay with her even after daycare closed and preferred to sit with her during social events. They just could not get enough of their Sandra. Children who were fortunate enough to attend Sandra's Daycare developed such a tight bond that they frequently visited her even after they no longer attended her daycare. They also may have visited to have some of her famous "sopita." Sandra was an active member of Praise Center Church in Visalia. She often volunteered in the nursery, (yes, even after she had cared for children in her home all week) and she loved being a door greeter. Sandra's favorite part of church was always Praise and Worship. Sandra loved spending time with her friends and family. She was often the first to suggest a party or get-together for holidays. In fact, she loved holidays so much she started a tradition of having Thanksgiving in the summer so she could celebrate Thanksgiving twice. Sandra was also a wonderful cook and she received many requests for our favorite dish. And somehow, she could make a whole plate of delicious over-easy eggs in a 3-inch cast iron skillet. Sandra was selfless and always put everyone's needs before her own. She was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. It would not have been uncommon for her to tell you she had already started the "cafecito" and she would wait up for you to come over to talk. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for help. Sandra is survived by her husband, Francisco Quevedo, her son, Joshua Gomez and his partner, Christina, her daughter, Amanda Quevedo and her wife, Angelie, her daughter, Julissa Quevedo, her daughter, Frankie Quevedo and granddaughter, Brae Gomez. She is also survived by her sisters, Eileen Hernandez and her husband, Donny, Lupe Herrejon & her husband, Daniel, and Abigail Meza and her partner, Chris. Yes, Sandra is no longer here on earth, but she will forever be with us in our hearts. There will forever be a void in our lives, but she wouldn't want us to cry because as she said in her own words, "she beat us to heaven first." We're all gathered here because we love Sandra, but we aren't mourning her death. We are celebrating her life. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 13th from 10AM-12PM at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, CA 93277. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 14th at 10AM at Praise Center Church, 503 N. Floral St., Visalia, CA 93291. A Graveside service to follow at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia, CA 93291.
