Ruben Sanchez Coronado

In loving memory of Ruben Sanchez Coronado, who passed away on September 10, 2022. He was a devoted husband to Maria Sanchez and a loving father to Irene Salcedo, Jose Sanchez, Ruben Sanchez, Ofelia Carmona, Javier Sanchez, Delia Avila, and Consuelo Sanchez. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Don Ruben was born on July 29, 1946 in Tototlan, Mexico, where he was raised by his watchful parents, Sabas and Maria de Jesus. He and his siblings grew up in a rancho called "La Mota" before he and his young wife moved to the United States. Ruben and Maria would come to settle in Ivanhoe, California. There they raised eight beautiful children. Don Ruben was a hardworking man who spent many years working the fields in surrounding towns. He worked at Phillips Farms for a number of years, where he made many lifelong friends. He often sold out of his big blue truck. You could catch him every Sunday at the Visalia sales yard or on the corner of Giotta Avenue in Ivanhoe. He always made sure his family was provided for. He would capture people with his radiant smile and keep them there with his good conversation. He was a people person and the community loved him for it. Don Ruben became a Grandfather for the first time when his eldest daughter, Ramona gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Miriam would be the first of many grandchildren. He had a big family who loved him dearly. One of the kindest souls on this planet. Our father was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sabas and Maria de Jesus, his brother, Estanilado, his sister, Antonia and his beloved daughter, Ramona. He leaves behind a large loving family of seven children, Irene, her husband Lorenzo, Jose, his spouse Lupita, Ruben, his wife Amy, Ofelia, her spouse Miguel, Delia, her husband Jesus, Javier, his wife Lydia, Consuelo, and her fiance Ivan. He is also survived by his 39 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and his best friends, his dogs, Kirruri, Muneca, and Bruno. Early in life our father would learn the importance of hard work and instilled the same work ethic in us. He was always there for us and always had words of wisdom to share. When the elderly die, a library of wisdom and knowledge are gone. He was a man of strong faith and he taught us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. Don Ruben was a true role model who we will always look up to. Rest in peace. we love you. Viewing will be held 4:30 PM Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at Sanchez-Coronado Residence, 15873 Beechwood, Ivanhoe. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Friday, September 30th, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1908 N. Court St., Visalla. Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, September 30th, 2022 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
