Rosie L Nava

September 4, 1931 - April 4, 2022

Rosie Lujan Nava passed away at home on April 4, 2022 at the age of 90 and lived an exceptionally full and active life. She was born on September 4, 1931 in Visalia to Max Mendoza Lujan and the former Mary Macias Garcia. She attended the local elementary and middle schools and while attending Visalia High School she met her future husband Frank E Nava (1929-2018). They married on October 31, 1948 and began and shared their future dreams together for the next 70 years. They then moved to Long Beach, CA to be near her parents and had their two children there. After living in the L.A. area for a few more years, they resumed residence back in Visalia where her husband started his own successful concrete contracting business, which he always credited his wife with helping him develop. While raising her two children in Visalia, she was able to pursue her many enjoyments in life which included her beloved animals. She was always ready to save an animal's life. She loved music, sewing, quilting, canvas painting, mosaic, and became a master gardener, but her real passion was cooking for the family, she was an excellent chef and we all looked forward to those home cooked meals, which often included old traditional family recipes. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband, family and friends and loved traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a Paul Harris Fellow for her support for the work of The Rotary Foundation. Family was the most important part of her life and we all shared and felt that love. She will be deeply missed not only by family but by friends alike. All of you were so deeply important to her. She is survived by her son Larry Nava (Beckie) of Visalia, her daughter Sharon Nava Romo of Visalia; grandchildren Gabriel Nava (Melissa), Blythe Romo and Sebastian Nava (Michelle); great-grandchildren Graciella, Max and Felix Rose; sister, Elsie Lujan Bowers and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. You have all been touched by this beautiful person and we will be forever grateful to you all for your kindness and thoughtfulness you showed our mother.
