Norman C. Donohue, Jr., 83, passed away on Friday 20 August 2021. He was a long time resident of Visalia, Ca., and a 41-year member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on 3 November 1937, at the age of 2 moved to Tonawanda, New York and in June of 1954, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served 2 tours in Vietnam, and after 20 years, 6 months, and 16 days, he retired as a TSgt in October 1975. He married the love of his life, Karen R. Mach 7 June 1975 at St. Ann's in San Bernadino, CA, and then moved to Visalia in 1980. Following his military retirement, he was employed as a time clock technician for 15 years, and a sales associate at OSH for 13 years. He loved to play racket ball, do word search books, and was a "walking encyclopedia" on aircraft maintenance, time clock repair, and life in general. Norm also had a special affection for the 9 dogs he and Karen had over the years. He is survived by his loving wife Karen of 46 years, 3 sisters-in-law; Linda Donahue of Bonita Springs, Florida, Elizabeth Drexler of Waupaca, WI, and Bernadine (Bill) Kwiecien of Kiel, WI. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman C. Sr., his mother, Alice, and stepfather Charlie, 3 brothers-in-law Ben Mach, Philip Mach, and Ray Drexler. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 4PM-6PM at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, CA 93277, with a Rosary to follow at 6PM at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 10:30AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church St., Visalia, CA 93291, followed by military honors. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. A Wickremasinghe at Hanford Kings Medical Group, Drs. Pullapilly and Gill, and the ICU staff at Adventist Health Hospital in Hanford, CA. The family is also very grateful for the care, compassion, and devotion from all their family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Charles Borromeo Church building fund, 5049 W. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, CA 93277.
