February 26, 1925 - June 4, 2021
Our Mother Mary "Jane" passed away peacefully in Visalia on June 4, with her daughters by her side. Jane was born Feb 26, 1925 in Modesto, CA to Stanley and Violet Leonardo. Some of her fondest memories were growing up there at the "River Bottom Ranch". She later attended elementary school in Exeter, CA graduating High School in 1942 from VUHS, Visalia. In April of 1944 she married her childhood sweetheart Gabriel Renzi, together they had 4 children. Gabriel passed away in 1968. Jane then with her 2 young children relocated to Laverne, CA where she continued to work for First American Title. She later married Kenneth Garrett moving their residence to San Bernardino, CA until his retirement and coming back to Visalia in 1978. Prior to working for First American she spent many years as a clerk with Automobile Club, not liking retirement too much she moved on to part-time bookkeeper position at the Visalia Bowling Alley which was her 2nd retirement. Jane had a lot of enjoyment from life, she loved music which is one of the things her children remember well having the house filled with music either she and Gabe were playing their accordions or her "78's" were playing all the oldies to which she always sang all the words. She also played the piano, organ and harmonica. It was later she entertained at many of the care homes in the Valley area singing with the Sweet Adeline's. Mom loved to cook and did a fabulous job whether baking her incredible pies, trying new recipes or Mastering Authentic Italian cooking she was taught by her mother in law. She also was a year round league bowler; square danced, and enjoyed desert camping, dune buggies and golf. She loved to knit and crochet. We have her many crocheted and knitted keepsakes she so lovingly made for each of us. Mom loved her trips to the Casinos even after her health was failing could often be found on the bench outside grocery store scratching off her lotto tickets, and she was lucky. We would be amiss if we did not mention that our Mother was a "Rule Keeper" about everything in life, she had an endearing gentleness and will be so dearly missed. Jane was preceded in death by her husband's Gabriel Renzi and Kenneth Garrett, brothers Billy and James, sister Eleanor Shahan and son in law Paul Enos. She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her children, daughters Janice Renzi Enos, Jacqueline Renzi Hall (David), Judith Renzi Maciel all of Visalia, son Phillip Renzi (Marcia) of Sherrills Ford, NC and sister Irene Alipaz, Visalia. Jane has 7 grandchildren Michelle Austin, Tina Rudig, Bryan and Brad Cary, Christopher, Gabriel, and Brianna Renzi, 9 greats, 3 great-greats, and many nephews and nieces. Words can't express the heartfelt thank-you that goes out to all the wonderful, Nurses and loving caregivers at TLC Senior Facility.
