Lourdes Avis Santos

July 28, 1936 - January 1, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Lourdes Avis Santos announces her passing on January 1, 2022. Lourdes Avis Santos was born July 28, 1936 to Antonio and Alice Fernandez Avis in the city of Cinco Ribeiras Terceira, Acores. She was one of the youngest amongst eight children. She met the love of her life at 16 years old, Manuel Santos. They would later marry when she turned 20 years old, and were fortunate to have spent sixty-one years together. Those sixty-one years were filled with love and they were blessed with four children; Phyllis Mancebo (Joe Mancebo), Carl Santos (Debbie Santos), Josephine Brazil (Tony Brazil) and Danny Santos (Denise Santos). Her grandchildren followed in 1988 with Victoria Mullins (Ben Mullins), Candice Lorenzo, Landon Santos (Gabby Santos), Bridgett Santos (Alec Davis), Hayden Santos and Madelyn Santos. Lourdes was fortunate to have four great-grandchildren; Tatum Lorenzo, Owen Mullins, Kent Mullins and Ronin Santos. Having lived a full life Lourdes was blessed with many close and adoring friends. She was true to her faith and family was at the center of her world. She took pride in many things, but family was her biggest joy. She enjoyed daily exercise, cooking/hosting friends and family and tackled any home project. She was most known for her green thumb. Any visit with her would mean a warm meal and always a good laugh. She was a kid at heart and those who knew her were blessed by her sense of humor. A special thanks to those who cared for her, Maria Dias and the wonderful staff at Casa Grande Memory Care. Visitation will be held 10am Friday, January 21st, 2022 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 E. Pleasant Avenue, Tulare, with the Rosary to be prayed at 10:30am and Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11am. A Graveside will follow at North Tulare Public Cemetery, 4572 North J. St., Tulare. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Memorial Tributes and condolences may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com.
