Kreg Allen Brockway

April 4, 1950 - June 2, 2021

Kreg Allen Brockway, 71, of Tulare, California, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Kreg was born on April 4, 1950 to Howard Herbert Brockway and Lerena June Brockway in Santa Maria, California. Kreg served in the Navy from March 1969 until late 1972 and during that time served in the Vietnam War. After his service in the military, Kreg worked in construction for over 3 years before he became a Police Officer. He continued to serve and protect others by becoming a Police Officer for the Tulare Police Department and Tulare County Sheriff's Department for a combined total of 28 years. During the last 7 years of his service as a Police Officer, Kreg attended National University and Chapman College. He went on to graduate from Cal State Bakersfield and held a total of 3 degrees � a Bachelor's Degree in Police Science, Behavioral Science, and Liberal Studies. He retired from the Tulare Police Department in 2000 and then started teaching later that year. He taught for 20 years at Woodville Elementary in Porterville, California. After retiring from teaching at Woodville Elementary in summer 2020, he immediately began working at Crescent Valley Charter School and taught there until he fell ill in October 2020. Kreg had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, working out, all water sports, boating, hiking, and gardening. While he had many hobbies, if you knew Kreg � you knew how much he loved his classic cars. He also loved beekeeping with his son, Ty � a hobby they enjoyed doing together. Kreg and the love of his life Jacqueline "Dannie" married on November 3, 1983. Kreg loved his family so much and especially adored his beautiful wife, Dannie. He is survived by his wife Dannie of thirty-six and half years. His beloved children, Brian Brockway, Brandon Brockway (Chandrena), Ty Brockway (Allison), Kasi Willems (Matt), stepson Chase Hartman, 8 grandchildren, his mother, Lerena June Brockway, his sisters, Kathy Brown (Ken), and Karol Moorman (John), and many nieces and nephews. Kreg was a generous, kind man with a big heart. He was a hard worker and loved his country, community, and truly served others. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and students. The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations be made to Woodville Elementary School in honor of Kreg Brockway.
