Johnnie Ray Isaacs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Johnnie Ray Isaacs was born May 3, 1949 in Holtville, CA to John Jay and Gladys Isaacs. Johnnie was raised in the Visalia area and attended Redwood High School before joining the army. He was honorably discharged from the army after serving in the Vietnam War. When he returned home he learned the drywall trade from his brother-in-law in the Santa Rosa area before settling back Visalia. He lived in Visalia when he married Rowena Gibson on June 23, 1974 and they later had two daughters. The couple settled in Visalia permanently after a couple of years. Johnnie and Rowena joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the early 1980's and were sealed for eternity to each other and their daughters in the Los Angeles Temple. Johnnie's testimony of the Savior was evident in everything he did whether in opportunities to serve in church, in his work, or as a friend. Johnnie worked in the drywall trade most of his adult life eventually owning his own drywall company. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, and traveling. Johnnie became ill on March 12 and passed on April 7, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family. Johnnie is survived by his wife Rowena, daughters Melissa Dixon (Craig) and Jennifer Renzi (Nino), 7 grandchildren Sari (Alex), Ashlie, Tyler, Ezra, Michael, Brooklyn, Nathan, and 3 sisters Melba Jean, Jackie, and Mary, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and therapists who were involved in his care at Kaweah Health, UCSF, and Kaweah Health Hospice. Funeral services will be held 10am Thursday, April 14th, 2022 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 650 N. Lover's Lane, Visalia with burial to follow 12pm at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
