John Marshall Hobbs

June 28, 1947 - April 18, 2022

It is with a broken heart we announce the passing of our loving husband and father, John Marshall Hobbs. John passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer. John was born June 28, 1947, to Harlan and Jean Hobbs in Toledo, Ohio. The family later moved to Chicago, Illinois. After the passing of his mother, John spent his educational years in Minnesota, graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1969. Always a political junkie, John worked for the Minnesota State legislature and after moving to California, worked for the Nixon Campaign. After leaving politics, John worked in the non-profit world. John married Lucretia in August 1985. Their adored son Maxwell was born in 1990. Max was John's pride and joy. He attended every sporting event and instilled in him a love of sports. The family moved to Tulare in 1995. We will miss Johnny's "never met a stranger" attitude, his ability to answer every question we ever asked, and his great love of food and drink. Johnny had the soul of an Irishman. Think of him, have a toast, and enjoy life. Our lives will never be the same without him. Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 7th, 2022 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
