Jim was born on December 24, 1935 to John and Crissie Morefield in Brea, CA the youngest of six children and passed away on January 5, 2014 at the age of 78 after battling his cancer for 19 plus years.
Jim married his wife, Gwen, on September 26, 1959. They enjoyed going on various cruises and traveling to their timeshares. Jim enjoyed his car hobby and was a member of the Vapor Trailers Car Club, Tulare County Horseless Carriage Club and the Charter Oak Model A Club. He was also a member of Amvets Post 56, the Brotherhood of Veterans and American Legion Post 94. Jim served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Cold War (1954-1956).
He is survived by his wife Gwen, his son James (Christine) of El Dorado Hills, CA, daughters Debi Harms (Joe) of Paso Robles, CA. and Pam Jordan Of Visalia, CA. Grandchildren Shawn Van Horn (Krista), Derek Harms (Amber), Brooke Harms Bell (Ricky) all of Paso Robles, Garrett Weese, Austin Jordan and Bryce Jordan of Visalia, CA and one Great-Granddaughter, Teagan of Paso Robles, CA.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 13, 2014 from 5-7pm at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E Caldwell Ave, Visalia, CA. Services will be held Monday, January 13 at 12:00 noon at Woodland Drive Baptist Church, 1436 S. Woodland St. Visalia, CA with burial following at Visalia District Cemetery.
