Harry Daniel Bomann Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Harry Daniel Bomann passed on to be with the Lord on May 12, 2022. Born in San Francisco to Harry Chris Bomann & Gladys Ophelia Bomann. Dan grew up on the Shannon ranch where his father worked. He attended a one room school house and had the same teacher as his mother. Dan attended local schools and in 1952 sang with the Visalia Boys Choir. He went to Redwood, Mt. Whitney & C.O.S. College. He received the Pioneer track & field Hall of Fame award in 1959. Dan tied for 3rd on the all-time list for his time in the 100 yard dash. He earned many athletic awards while attending both C.O.S. & Sacramento College. He married Rebecca Hill on August 26, 1960. He served in the Army for 3 years. Dan joined the California Highway Patrol and served 28 years as a C.H.P. officer. He has many close friends that are now retired as well. Dan was active in American Legion Post 18. He loved motorcycle trips, golf, fishing, hunting & the mountains. Dan was a great Dad & Grandpa. He loved the time spent with family. He will be greatly missed by those that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rebecca. Son Mark D. Bomann, his daughters Alexa and Sabrina of Mercer Island, WA. Also Jennifer Hale (daughter) husband Stephen of Boise, ID. Grandchildren Justin Hale, Nichole and Ryan Hale & Keisha Evarts. Also sisters Linda Smith and Connie Brannon and brother David Bomann. Sister-in-law Sara Alvarez and brothers-in-law Ray Hill and Stuart Hill of Arizona. Per Dan's request, no services will be held. Donations to Visalia Rescue Mission or Charity of choice.
