It is with broken hearts that the family of Deborah Elizabeth Ballesteros, of Farmerville, CA, announce her passing. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, at age 39, on September 9th, 2021 in Visalia, CA. Deborah was born in Visalia, CA to Joe and Gayle Ballesteros on February 22nd, 1982. She attended school in Farmerville, CA. She graduated from the LVN program at Porterville College, the RN program at College of Sequoias, and earned a bachelor's of science in nursing at Western Governors University. She worked as a nurse for Kaweah Delta in the Transitional Care Unit for 17 years. She was engaged to be married to her longtime partner, Lance Martin. They were planning a ceremony for the summer of 2022. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Sookie and Gus. In her youth, she was involved in many sports, religious activities, and extracurriculars. Deborah is preceded in death by her grandmother: Hermina Ballesteros, grandfather: Scott Shields, uncle: Rod Shields, and godfather: Andy Aguilar. Deborah is survived by her fiance: Lance Martin, parents: Joe and Gayle Ballesteros, sisters: Rachel Ballesteros, Victoria (Ivan) Ballesteros Ramirez, and Clairyssa (Gabriel) Ballesteros Gurrola, nephew: Oliver Ballesteros Gurrola, grandmother: Janis Shields, uncle: John Rodgers, aunts: Rose Ortega and Nellie Ballesteros, and many cousins. The visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 23rd at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel, Visalia, CA. The visitation will be immediately followed by a rosary service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, September 24th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Exeter, CA, with the Fr. Dominic Rajappa officiating. The burial services will be private, for the family. Arrangements are by Salser and Dillard. Deborah's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to her health care team at Kaweah Delta: nurses Matt, Renee, and Laura, as well as Dr. Dias, and Chaplain Mark. In lieu of flowers, loved ones can make donations to the Kaweah Health Foundation, "ICU-Deborah Ballesteros Memorial." Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
