DeAnna L Mulrooney

September 3, 1960 - May 9, 2022

DeAnna Lynn Mulrooney, 61, passed away on May 9, 2022 from an unexpected heart attack while going through a blood cancer treatment for Multiple Myeloma at the City of Hope Cancer Research Center Duarte CA. For almost 6 years, DeAnna fought a long hard battle for life. She never gave up or gave in to the disease. Though a failing heart took her away from us, her eternal loving spirit and sense of humor will continue to be a beacon of light for all who knew her. We can still hear her singing "FIGARO!, FIGARO!, FIGARO!" Her favorite bands included Aerosmith and Fleetwood Mac, often attending their concerts. She was always fun to be with and everyone's friend. DeAnna previously worked as a manager at KB Toys and as a clerk at CED Visalia. DeAnna believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and in miracles. The last years of DeAnna's life were evidence of that. Whether it was hanging out with her best friends, rv'ing, gardening, or painting and decorating, she always looked forward to the next day. Even through the most difficult forms of cancer treatment, she had a cheerful attitude and a bright smile. DeAnna is survived by her loving husband of 31 years Steven James Mulrooney. In 1992 DeAnna and Steve were married in Visalia CA. She was a proud mom to their two sons: Christian Joseph Mulrooney and Jordan Anthony Mulrooney. Their first son Steven Spencer Mulrooney passed away in 1993. She is also survived by her brother Rick Perez (wife: Rita Perez), sister Kimberly Rodriguez (husband: Larry Rodriguez), niece Justine Larson (husband: Jordan Larson), niece Lauren Uribe, nephew Ricky Perez, niece Kimberly Perez, great nephew Michael Larson, great niece Stella Larson, great nephew Jackson Larson, aunt Lucy Stump, and uncle John Perez (wife Rosemary Perez). DeAnna's dad Antonio R. Perez Jr., mom Stella G. Perez, and oldest son Steven Spenser Mulrooney have already gone home and are welcoming DeAnna at this very moment. There will be a Celebration of Life at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel (127 E Caldwell Ave., Visalia, CA 93277). The ceremony will begin at 12:30pm on Friday May 20, 2022, with reception to follow. A private Internment will be held separately on a different day. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
