Charles Raines Stouffer

9/25/38-8/10/22 It is with deep sorrow that Charles Raines Stouffer, 83, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather has passed away. Charles was born in Dinuba to parents Commie R . and Alice E . Stouffer. He is survived by one sister, Ann Dietz of Livermore. Charles was married to Wanda Curry in 1959. The marriage ended in 1980. Charles is survived by two daughters, Celeste Haughton and husband Steve (Visalia)and Alicia Sarina and Husband, Larry (Paso Robles) He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Charles went to and graduated from Dinuba High School and attended Reedley College . He later received an AS degree from College Of The Sequoias in Visalia. Charles was enlisted in the National Guard in 1956 through January 1960 where he was honorably discharged. He was a top rated sharp shooter during his enlistment, earning honors for competitive shooting.. His first job after this was a TV repair man then he went on to work for Bell Telephone now AT&T for 38 years as a lineman in their Toll Department. Charles made many lifetime co-workers/friends that he maintained relationships with throughout his life and retirement. These people were very special to him. One of these friends that he spent much of his retirement with Nancy Tyner recently preceded him in death. Charles was a lifetime member of the Amateur Ham Radio Club, locally and a short time in Marshall, Texas. He has always had a passion for this. He liked being involved and participated in community events that involved communications and safety measures for a bike race and a marathon just this year. Charles was very involved with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. From birth he was their biggest fans throughout their lives. He was very pro education and attended all their ceremonies for awards and outstanding accomplishments, supporting all of their future endeavors and proudly waiting to see what they might choose as a profession and or passion. He also was their a biggest fan on the sports field attending all soccer games , softball games and swim meets. You could always catch him with his camera in hand Charles loved Many things, vintage cars, Porsches, trains, and music He was kind and generous and always a gentleman. It is with honor that we keep him in our hearts and treasure our memories. Until we meet again Dad, the love we have for you cannot be measured. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friday, September 9th, 2022 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia.
