Carmen Sylvia Foucht Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carmen Sylvia Foucht, 92, of Visalia, California, passed away on February 3, 2022 in Visalia California. Carmen was born to Raymond Lago and Eleanor Brown on December 14, 1929 in San Francisco, California. Carmen grew up in San Francisco where she attended elementary, high school, and graduated from Lone Mountain College. She met her future husband, Phillip E. Foucht, at a college dance. She married Phillip on June 3, 1950 in San Francisco. After several years and 3 children, Carmen and Phillip moved from the Bay Area to the Central Valley. There their family grew by four more children. Carmen worked as a teacher for over 30 years, first in Firebaugh School District and then for Visalia Unified. She was a dedicated catechist and enjoyed sharing her faith with children and young adults. She was a devoted member of Good Shepherd Catholic Parish where she once was a Eucharistic minister. Storytelling was a passion of Carmen's as well as gardening, crossword puzzles, reading, her faith in God, and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Carmen is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband, Phillip and granddaughters, Wendy Foucht and Cecilia Davidson. She is survived by her seven children : Andrew Foucht (Esther), Eric Foucht, Brian Foucht (Julie), Christine Coley (Richard), Mark Foucht (Rosie), Margot Davidson (Daniel), Kerry Foucht (Sherri), 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Carmen's wit, wisdom, tales of her life, faith in God, and unconditional love will be truly missed by all. Viewing will be held 10:00 AM -12:00 PM Sunday, February 13th, 2022 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave. Visalia. Rosary will be recited at 12:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street, Visalia. Donations can be made to the Bethlehem Center in Visalia in her honor.
