Betty Joyce Seaton

October 28, 1933 - December 5, 2021

Betty was born October 28th, 1933, to Paul and Bertha Johnson in Grady, Oklahoma. Betty passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December the 5th 2021, at the age of 88. Betty attended Pixley Elementary School, Pixley Missionary Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Pixley. Betty married Leroy Seaton on March 15th, 1948. Betty and Leroy had nine children over the next 20 years. Five Daughters; Regena Brown (Wayne), Janet Brazell (Karl), Cathy Shawn (Danny), Lora Phelps (Rick), and Tabitha Scheler (Steven). Four boys; Kevin Seaton (Cindy), Jimmy Seaton, Jeff Seaton (Judy), and Greg Seaton (Kim). Betty was preceded in death by Leroy, her husband of 52 years, her son Jimmy, daughter Regena, son-in-law Steve Scheler and daughter-in-law Kim Seaton. Over her lifetime, her family of 9, became a family of 103 persons; twenty-eight grandchildren, Brandon Brown, Kendy Paim (Helio), Kara Munoz (Johnny), Bo Brazell, Kesha Galbraith, Kiley Garcia (Ceasar), Chad Shawn (Kourtnee), Jeffrey C. Seaton (Lynn), Steven R. Seaton, Jeffrey D. Seaton (Sara), Monica Leal (Jace), Ryan Seaton, Alissa McPhetridge, Jerry Barcellos, Miranda Beck (Clay), Ashley Brown (Seth), Katie Phelps, Sarah Cline (Troy), Sydney Seaton, Josh Seaton (Rachel), Jessica Ochoa (Ignacio), Lindsey Seaton, Troy Seaton, Trey Seaton, Ciara Seaton, Steven Scheler (Taylor), Stephanie Scheler, and Jody Scheler (Chloe); thirty-nine great-grandchildren, Dylan Paim, Johnny Munoz Jr., Miranda Fraga (Jacob), Paisely Brazell, Brayton Brazell, Logan Galbraith (Cassidy), Darren Galbraith, Autumn Galbraith, Eliijah Garcia, Julian Garcia, Abigail Garcia, Ian Garcia, Greyson Shawn, Vincent Seaton, Bryce Barcellos, Kambree Barcellos, Keegan Beck, Caitlin Beck, Emily Crook, Luke Brown, Alyson Brown, Owen Brown, Camile Brown, Evangeline Faiman, Seth Cline, Ian Cline, Chase Cline, Blake Seaton, Luis, Isaiah, Edgar, Ethan Ochoa, Jaxton Seaton, Stevi Scheler, Jessi Scheler, Kori Scheler, Ryder Sanders, Gunner Sanders, and Stryker Sanders; and three great-great-grandchildren, Hayden Paim, Aurora Fraga, and Weston Galbraith. It was Leroy and Betty's dream to have a large family and God blessed them in this endeavor. She treasured the time she had with all of them. The fuller the house the better. Betty was a beautiful wife and mother. As a domestic engineer, Betty was able to supplement the family income with part-time work which could be done from home. She taught her children by example, to work hard, to always give their best effort, and to be thankful for the opportunities God provided. Together they managed paper routes in the Pixley area for two newspapers, babysat, moved lawns, took in laundry, ironing and cleaned for other families and businesses. They ran an ice cream truck which serviced the surrounding area, as far as Delano. Betty loved crafting. Sewing blankets for family and friends, decorating hangers, making decorative soaps, tending her garden, and canning the harvest. To gift with friends and family, brought her joy. Spending time with Leroy at the Lions Club Bingo night, while working the event, as well as playing Bunco with her besties, were two of her favorite diversions. Betty was a picture of servitude to her family, friends, and community. Betty honored the Lord, her husband and all her legacy, all the days of her life.
