Bertha Alicia Torres

Bertha A. Torres, 62, of Visalia, CA passed away from this life into eternal life on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Kaweah Delta Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was born Bertha Alicia Figueroa on February 25, 1957. Her name later changed to Bertha Alicia Johnson when she was adopted by her mother's husband, Baxter Taylor Johnson. Her name changed one last time when she married Angelberto Torres. Bertha started working at the age of 16 and would work for 40 years in customer service, retiring at the age of 56. She was very proud of having received her G.E.D. She is preceded in death by her father, Baxter Taylor Johnson, and her sister Tammy Johnson. She is survived by her mother, Socorro Figueroa Johnson, sister, Linda Marie Johnson, and brother, Rolyat Taylor Johnson. Also survived by her children: Craig Fernando Johnson, Angelica Maria Torres, Angelberto Torres, Luis Miguel Torres, Jeannette Ann Lopez, Rosa Erika Lopez, son-in-law, Douglas Platero, daughters-in-law: Grace Torres, Liseth Torres, and Maricela Johnson, brother-in-law Horacio Rendon, nephews-in-law: Jesus Castro and Pablo Rodriguez. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her many grandchildren: Robert Lehnhoff, Andrew Johnson, Brittany Lehnhoff, Craig Johnson, Matthew Torres, Hannah Torres, Manny Johnson, Isaac Torres, Sarah Torres, Gysselle Torres, Joshua Platero, Jacob Platero, Luis Torres, Justin Platero, Hailey Nieto, and Nathan Platero, great-grandchildren: Alec Figueroa and Luna Fogarasi, nieces and nephews: Brittany Johnson, Brianna Johnson, Isaiah Rivera, Veronica Rendon, Annabelle Rendon, Horacio JR. Rendon, great nieces and nephews: Jayden Castro, Maya Rodriguez, Jordan Castro, Matthias Hennesay, and Carolina Hennesay. Bertha Alicia Torres was a beautiful soul. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her smile was warm and bright and when you saw it you couldn't help but to smile back. Bertha loved helping those in need. Even though she didn't have a lot she would always give from what she had. Bertha's homecooked meals were so delicious that you could taste love and passion in every bite. No one could ever pass on a plate of her amazing food. Bertha's family meant everything to her and she would do anything for them. She was the person you would go to when you needed someone to talk with, always listening with caring ears and offering wonderful advice. She was truly one of a kind. Bertha was a sweetheart: caring, kind, loving, and over all a happy content person.
