Amelia Rachel Nunez

Amelia Rachel Nunez was called home to Heaven on Thursday, January 18, 2022 in Visalia California, at the age of 82. She was born on March 29, 1939 in Hanford California to Valente and Catelina Nunez, being 1 of 4 daughters and having 8 brothers. Amelia married her late husband Joe Sorea Jr. and had 4 children, 2 sons and 2 daughters. She left behind with saddened hearts her children; Joe Sorea III, Karen (Ramiro Jr) Gonzalez, Ron (Renee) Sorea. 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She leaves behind 1 brother Fernando Nunez and 1 sister Marylou Marquez and numerous family members, friends, pastors, loved church members and a daughter in Christ Amy N. Flores. Amelia was preceded in death by her late husband Joe Sorea Jr.; her daughter Sandra M. Sorea, her step daughter Rosalva (Jeremy) Salwatsky, her parents Valente and Catalina Nunez, 2 sisters; Marie Ramirez, Delores Contreras and brothers Espirldion, Manuel, Rudolfo, James, Margarito, Frank and Ruben Nunez. Amelia was an Orosi High School graduate and also attended COS and completed the RN Nursing Program. She then worked at Kaweah Delta Hospital in the Dialysis department in Visalia, Ca. She then proceeded to be a school nurse for the Tulare Office of Education. Soon after she married Alcario Sosaya adding 5 step children. 4 step daughters and 1 step son. Johanna (Pete) Dorado, Farina (Mary) Chavez Alcaro III, (Judy) Sosaya, Evelyn ( David) Chavez, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Amelia was a strong believer and served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a very active member at Praise Center Church in Visalia, Ca. She would keep all of us in her prayers and was full of love. She had a way of talking to those in need. She was very spiritual, she was a prayer warrior for sure. She had a love for our heavenly father. Amelia loved cooking and sewing for her family, she enjoyed family gatherings and the Nunez family reunions. Her presence will surely be missed by many, but it's not a goodbye, it's I'll see you later. Visitation will be held 9-10am Friday, February 4, 2022 at Praise Center Church, 503 N. Floral St. Visalia, Ca; with a Celebration of Life to begin at 10am and burial to follow at Visalia Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Ave Visalia, Ca.
