Ada Mae Mason
December 5, 1931 - January 15, 2022
Ada Mae Mason, 90 of Visalia, California, died on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Tulare, California. Ada was born to Clarence A. Himmelspach and Edna Blackford on December 5, 1931 in Zanesville, Ohio. Ada was raised by a single mother as her father died early. She walked to catholic school 5 miles everyday even in the rain and snow. In her teens she always took care of all the house chores. Ada's first job was at the catholic hospital where she was hoping to become a nurse but got stuck doing dishes in the basement. Her second job was at Essex Wire where she met the love of her life, George Mason. They were married on February 7, 1952. In today's world she would be called an "Alpha Mom." She wanted to do it all. If you need help, Ada was always there, no questions asked, just helped. She loved volunteering at First Baptist Church Bible & Breakfast, and the Home Visit Ministry. Ada was competitive and loved sports. She enjoyed golf and even once broke 90. At 55 she decided she would take up jogging and the first time she set out, she jogged three miles without stopping. She is survived by her spouse George Allen Mason of Visalia, CA; three children, Bill Mason (Karen), Becky Sue White (Michael), and Patricia Ann Mason; four grandchildren, Lorena Fagundes, Trampus Fagumdes, Andrew Mason, and George Mason of Tulare, CA; and four great-grandchildren, Desia Hinojosa, Amelia Mason, Dominique Mason, and Eriana Mason. Memorial services will be held 8 AM - 10AM Friday, January 28th, 2022 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Memorial Tributes and condolences may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com.
