Yvette Iona Dukes-Jenkins

Yvette Iona Dukes, born to union of Lincoln David Dukes, Sr and Emma Jean Dukes Jones, on February 17. 1960 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Yvette, the youngest of her 4 siblings, Lincoln David Dukes Sr gave Yvette the tribal nick name of "Cudalou," as a newborn. Her father, Lincoln a descendant of the Gullah people whom were brought as slaves to South Carolina from the west African nation of Sierra Leone. Her mother, Emma Jean Jones was born In Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. Yvette and her family, relocated to California when she was 9 years old. She attended school in both Visalia and Hanford California areas. She met James "Papa" Edwards. They had one child together, Angelique Rochelle Edwards. Yvette later met and married Rick Jenkins and moved to Fresno, California. While living in Fresno, she attended school and studied to be a licensed Administrator for several local area group homes. Yvette did an excellent job managing several group homes for over 20 years. When Yvette professed her belief in Christ, she became a dedicated member of Victory Temple Church of God in Christ. Her grandson, Roderick Jackson, was the apple of her eye. Roderick and Vanessa blessed Yvette with a beautiful great granddaughter, Angelique "Royalty" Jackson. Yvette was so excited about being a great grandmother, Royalty was the shining star of her daily life. Yvette had several and nieces and nephews & God children. She loved all of them dearly; especially Moya Jean Edwards and Dwan Russell Proceeding her in death were: Great grand parents, Dick & Julianna Dukes, Clinton & Margaret Johnson Russel Adams, Grand parents, Caesar Dick & Lugenia Tisdale-Dukes & Henry Jones & Lillie Russel Jones Riley Parents of Yvette, Lincoln David Dukes Sr. & Emma Jean Jones Dukes, WB Jones, Stepfather, Aunt Estelle Jones, Yvette's Brothers, James N Scott & Lincoln David Dukes Jr Yvette leaves to mourn her daughter, Angelique Rochelle Edwards, Roderick Jackson, her grandson, Angelique Royalty Jackson, her great granddaughter, her Aunt, Cora Lee Johnson, Joe & Bernadette Shaw, sister & brother in law, Lynette Dukes-Edwards, sister, Moya Jean Edwards, niece, Robbie Payton 1st cousin, Dwan Russell, God daughter, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, God children, family and friends.
